Torpor's Edge is an album of Atriarch
'sampler' music. Atriarch is an online computer game that takes place on a distant,
alien planet named "Atriana". Atriana is a huge planet consisting of 6 major
continents, each having unique species and geological charactersitics. About 3 hours
of 'in-game' music was written for each species/continent. There are a whole variety
of other pieces that were created for the game as well. In all, I wrote over 20
hours of music for the game.

There is a main theme to the entire game, and various sub-themes for each species/continent.
I tried to interweave the main theme into the sub-themes while, at the same time, trying
to provide enough contrast to keep things colorful and descriptive of the varied geography and species traits.
It is also worth noting that while Atriarch is a game that takes place on an alien world, it
is not a futuristic environment. It is an earthy, organic world still in its early years of
development. The level of technology might be compared to that of the Greek/Roman era.

The Cavolon are masters of the plant life on Atriana. They are
crafy, secretive, and eccentric. They live in swampy terrain and
keep to themselves until, of course, they need something.

Eshlar are skilled and talented architects. They are responsible for
most of the structures built on Atriana. They are artistic, yet
pragmatic, stoic, and belligerent.

Lokai are explorers. They have spent their lives mapping and
preserving the world of Atriana. Lokai are by nature curious and
adventurous. The keep close ties to their lineage. Although their
homeland is desert terrain, they are at home anywhere on Atriana.

Tyrusin are warriors. They follow a code of honor and are loyal to their
death. Tyrusin are strong, brutal, and honorable fighters.
Their training camps are in the icy plains of the north.

The Unarra are the beast lords. Unarra have an empathic link to the
creatures of Atriana. Unarra prefer peace, but are fierce and
swift fighters when necessary. They live in the forests where many
of the beasts also live.
